Circular Sawing Machine
Unlike band sawing machine, circular sawing machine utilizes circular tools to conduct sawing procedure rather than sawing bands to achieve the cutting mechanism, which leads to other machining features that is different from band sawing mechanism. Conventionally, a circular saw is a powered saw that uses a toothed or abrasive disc set or blade to cut different materials by a rotary motion spinning around an arbor. Similarly, a hole saw and ring saw also use a rotary motion but are different from a circular saw.
The growth of circular sawing in the States
To be precise, circular sawing machines may also be loosely used for the blade itself. Circular saws were invented in the late 18th century and were in common use in sawmills in the United States by the middle of the 19th century due to the growth of industry over agricultural sectors in the states then. A circular saw is a machining tool for cutting many materials such as wood, masonry, plastic, or metal. Circular saw may be hand-held or mounted to a machine.
Applications
In the sector of woodworking, the term "circular saw" refers specifically to the hand-held type and the table saw and chop saw are other conventional forms of circular saws. Besides, the terms "Skilsaw" and "Stihl saw" have also become generic trademarks for conventional hand-held circular saws in the market of sawing machines. Circular saw blades are specially designed for each particular material they are intended to cut due to the machining specific demands. And in the sector of cutting wood there are specifically designed objects for making rip-cuts, cross-cuts, or a combination of both in order to best achieve the targeted cutting tasks.
Power and driven mechanism
Regarding the power, normally circular saws are commonly powered by electricity, but may be powered by a gasoline engine or a hydraulic motor which allows it to be fastened to heavy equipment, because it can eliminate the need for a separate energy source. The driven process may be gear driven or belt driven, but mostly are with transmission components so that there are speeds options for onsite operators to choose the optimum working modes based on the conditions. Nowadays with the servo motor has been widely adopted in machinery, newly developed circular controlled by computer are with new power motors in order to save energy consumption.
Clamping mechanism
Normally speaking, the targeted material to be cut is securely clamped or held in a hydraulic vise, and the saw blade or other cutting tools are advanced slowly across it. In some variants such as the table saw, the saw is fixed and the material to be cut is slowly moved into the sawing blade. As each tooth in the blade strikes the materials, it makes a small chip and the chip issue is also another modern machining problem to be dealt with by conveyors. During the processing, the teeth will guide the chip out of the work piece (the object to be cut by sawing blade), preventing it from binding the blade.
